Mainly because they've got the time or the excess income to investigate such things. Certainly, my dad has become a "Silver Surfer" since taking up desktop publishing as a way to generate a bit of extra cash. It's getting to the point where he tells me about new stuff, rather than the other way round. Actually, I am reliably informed that the two main age-groups that rapidly pick up on new internet services and other phenomena are the under-25s and the over-65s. Mainly because they’ve got the time or the excess income to investigate such things.
