The 'good will' afterthought had me in stitches. Good old Carol, friend to the hapless blackamoor with a kind word for every fuzzy haired little chap. Why, it's a wonder the tennis player hasn't nipped round to Carol's for tea...well, to serve it anyway... What alarms me - to be serious for a moment - is how that term was so easily used.
