They did plenty of things that the tories never dared to try, such as the horrific student fees, and (surprisingly little commented on) not only drove the house market to ridiculous heights but changed the tax system in order to destroy pension provision, in all three ways systematically impoverishing the under-25s. They are appalling. Y’know, I’m really not at all sure that they’re not worse than the tories.
